I love it when snakes have people names! How long is she? How much does she weigh? I am secretly looking forward to the day that I have sons and can have a pet snake without having to "have a snake" if you know what I mean. :hmm3grin2orange:

I'd just cave and get my own snake...

...oh wait! That's what I've always done!:hmm3grin2orange:

Mine is a Vietnamese Blue Beauty...her name is Ling...:1luvu:

Thanks guys :) She's right around 4 feet long, give or take, she's really hard to measure! As far as weight, I really have no idea, she's pretty hefty when you hold her. She eats frozen/thawed medium rats, and the last order I got are MONSTERS - I mean HUGE rats - I imagine I'll have to feed her every 1.5-2 weeks instead of every week now, lol

Measure her with a string...it's easy and accurate...

Last time I measured Ling she was over 5', and with the rate at which she's still shedding she must be close to 6' by now...

...mind you, she's a slim snake...so not as much body mass as Eleanor...

Her markings are beautiful. What are you feeding that bad girl? I used to have a red tail boa named China. Very mellow snake...I just loved her.

Are there differences in temperament of males and females? Most I've heard of are females... Or at least have female names. ;)

I don't think so...or not enough to be very obvious at any rate...

Great pics. I am actually getting my first snake tomorow.....here she is...

It is about 34" long and was born this past thanksgiving. It is a guyana red tail which is pretty much the same as a suriname. Extreme red tail. It is a true BCC.

Congrats! :19:

Pretty girl!

What's her name?

Dru - nice boa! I've heard they have great temperments, I would love to have one, but they're too big, lol. Eleanor eats medium/large rats once every week, sometimes every two weeks

Zack - congrats! She's gorgeous!! BCC's saddles are so much cooler than the BCI's, I love the peaks!

Mandy - For ball pythons, the only difference between males and females is size (female tends to be larger) but it's not always the case. As far as temperment, they're all pretty mellow regardless of sex

Rue- I'll try the string thing, I've tried it before but she's usually moving around too much, lol

I haven't named it yet. I am either going to go with a really simple human name like sarah or something hahah or a cool name but I haven't really thought about it yet. I'll let her settle in and see how her personality is etc.

If any of you are looking for snakes I would recommend kingsnake.com classifieds. Every day there is dozens of adds posted. I got my snake through Boasandballs.com.
Lynn there is very good and she has been breeding for a long time. I will get more pics once I get her and let you know how she really turns out.
