Not sure if anyone that uses Windows Vista has figured out how to do this, but since I did I figured I would clue everyone in. I know I have heard a lot of people complain about the messages that pop up and ask if you are sure you want to do whatever it was u just clicked on.

Well I figured out how to turn this feature off...

go to Control Panel
choose System & Maintenance
choose Administrator Tools
choose System Configuration
go to the Tools tab
scroll to near the bottom of the list
click on Disable UAC
then click on launch
you will then need to restart your computer for this to take affect.

I have never used a mac, so I don't know if they are better or not. I know their are people that say they are, but their are people that think windows is the best....so to each their own.

edit: I have just watched a tutorial on using a mac and i hate the way the screen is setup and it looks harder to find what you want. Also, I have seen what the Safari web browser is like and I hate it, I couldn't stand to use that web browser.

just checked out the price of iMac......holy freaking cow! I only paid about 400-500 for my brand new Compaq with 19 inch widescreen monitor and windows vista. The iMac that is close to the power I have is 1200. That is crazy. I really don't see what is so great about macs that make them worth over twice what a windows computer costs.

The mac mini starts at 600, and its just the "tower", i paid less than that for mine and it came with monitor, keyboard, mouse, and 1 yr subscription to norton 360.

Well for one thing, you get what you pay for. You dont need to buy a new mac every time a new system comes out. I use 10 year old macs running the recent OS on a regular basis. I cant imagine an unupgraded PC running Vista. PLus, you dont have to worry about viruses and spyware. Also, because Mac OS X is well designed, you dont need a whole bunch of processing power to make it run fast. PLus all new macs come loaded with some very nice software, which you could compare to a few hundred dollars worth on the windows side. They can also run Windows directly off the processor. In fact, macs runs vista faster than a similarly compared pc.

The interface may take some getting use to if you switch over from Windows, but once you get accustomed to it, you will see how cool it is, and how it very user intuitive.

Oh yeah, the safari browser does suck. I cant stand it either.

Not another MAC/PC debate.... geeez? *rolling eyes* LOL

I thought the tip was going to be: Go get a copy of Windows XP, insert disk, reboot, and follow the onscreen prompts for full install.

Vista is such a PITA!!!

U mean yet. :P All of that is opinion, i dont recommend ever buying a mac. No mac runs windows faster than a pc with the same specs. Your right macs come with alot of extra software and flash, which is exactly what i dont want. I want my stuff to run fast, and look professional. OsX looks like an OS i would find on playschool's "my first computer" or some sh**. Little fuzzy icons that bounce when you click them... whoo hoo lol

If you really want pros and cons of macs vs Pcs, look for posts by drum machine and find his computer post, me and ED duked it out on there for a while and pretty much every pro/con for both platforms are listed.

So I like things to look good. Whats wrong with that? Just because it looks good and run smoothly doesnt mean it's unproffesional. Also I would rather buy from a company that is constantly changing the computer world, not just following along.

I guess if anyone even wants to debate this we can start a thread in controversial or something.

Yea like i said me and you already did that one, the thread i was referring too. I perfer pcs and all i have to say about that one is 97% of the marketshare probably has it right. Other than that you can just go to that thread to see pros/cons of pcs and macs cuz im not up for re debating that one when its right there. lol

Besides, Macs hold more the computer marketshare than a BMW or Mercedes holds of the Car market share. Whats wrong with a BMW or Mercedes?

BMW and Mercedes are over-priced cars. They cost more to buy and more to fix and are not that much more great.

3.2% of the global marketshare in 2008. The difference between mac and mercedes is theres probably 50 mainline car companys, and theres 3 Os'es.

so you would buy a BMW or mercades because of looks then, not because of performance. Just because something looks nice doesn't make it a better product.
