View Full Version : St. Bernard
Good lord. My wife and daughter went to the local Humane Society dog walk today and came back with an 8 month old St. Bernard. This dog is freakin' huge! Beautiful coloring, wonderful personality.
So now we have 5 dogs, 6 cats, 13 tanks, and 3 guinea pigs. Ridiculous.
I'll post pictures after a while. They just went out to the local dog wash station to give her a bath.

Wow, now there's an impulse buy! LOL
I remember reading once that you know you're in a home with a St. Bernard when you see fur pasted to the walls with slobber... Good luck with that! :hmm3grin2orange:

Hahahaha! Classic!
She is doing very well. A little underweight, probably by about 5-10 pounds but is eating and drinking everything in sight. She is such a sweetie. Our other female dominant dog, Aayla, a pit bull/black lab mix, is doing pretty well with her. Sunshine is definitely not the alpha, which is cool.
Good! How did she clean up? Where are our pics? When's the vet visit?

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]!!! Yeah, hes gonna get big! lol They are clumsy dogs too, but very loving and at older stages, very protective on the one(s) they cling to (aka family). Just wait till he/shes full grown and lets out that first bark! LOL!!! Its wow! Especially since, when they are younger they dont seem to be much for barking and when they do, they dont put a lot into it, but when they are adult size and protective, they mean some serious business there and its floor rumbling loud barks..>LMAO!!! :hmm3grin2orange: THey are great dogs though! Perfect for kids too! Just keep an eye on the things they are prone to getting and try to keep him/her away from stairs and higher furniture as much as possible, especially at this age. :11:

LOL! actually though, they tend to mark a certain part of the yard and always go potty there. My sister actually just put a small fence up with an opening for her bernard that way the kids stay out of his area and he can go do his business...lol. The breed are pretty good with that though. Especially if you give them the extra umph and take the to the same spot everytime in the beginning. :)
Thanks for all of the information!
I'll get some pics up tonight.
