Today i found the fish i've searched for for so long

hes only about an inch long but he's a total cutie :)
only $11.50 to

but my LFS sold me an old 70 litre tank for $20 it a nice solid one, he's in that at the moment

Ill upload some in about 5 mins, its terrible picture quality, and atm he looks more like a female red empress....
Whenever i buy a fish from the pet shop they lose their colours, its annoying, he has barely any black on him, got any ideas why

This is the one good photo i could get, when i got him he had alot more black marbelling on him and it rarely shows up now

as to why your fish loose their colour when you get them home i had an idea (could be wrong though), a friend of mine works at our lfs and told me they feed a special flake that has a load of colour enchancers in it, so they look vibrant and colourful at the shop which results in the fish being sold faster. i dont know if thats whats happening with your fish but just a suggestion :19:

its deffinetly a possibility, but it was a thing like it gradualy dissapeared, it just got stress out in the bag and its colours changed due to its mood, and they sometimes, very rarely while the room is dark come back, but as soon as a light goes on its that colour in the pic, you can see the faded parts, thats where he's usually black

very nice! i think the color loss is just due to stress...give it some time to settle in and it should look great in no time.

well s he's gotten a little bigger (he's grown so much in just a few days) hes getting more black on him
