It's a montogue (sp) of people saying, "We work on the weekends." It shows them at Disneyland. "We're nothing but pencil pushers." and it shows guys scoring their golf card. At the end, Arnold says something about moving there.

Out of all the states that need advertising for people to want to move to, California is not one of them. They never needed any help to get immigrants from other states before, why now? Has their state been hit hard by the foreclosing disaster?

I tried Nor Cal, but didn't like it. I lived in Modesto during the whole Laci Peterson ordeal late 2002-2003. I don't know if I just met the wrong crowds, but it seemed like everyone was into hard drugs. I'm not against marijuana, but anything you have to cook or snort I'm totally against. This parole officer's kid I knew would always get stuff from his dad that he "confiscated".

I want to move to SoCal after a few years. My gf has to do her clinicals and she can get her RN and I'll start going back to school this fall, so once we get in order I want to go by San Diego. I have a few cousins out there already and they keep telling me how great it is.

Ew, not Nor Cal. Most of the peopl there are weird (no offense). Socal is pretty nice, especially around the San Diego Area.

Cost of living is getting pretty high their. And a lot of Californians are moving up here to Montana. This school year alone we have gotten three new kids from California. All from different families

the funny thing is... i live in california, and they play that commercial here!!! wtf??
why they would do that, i have no idea.
anyways, the reason for it is because we need your monies.
our state is $20 Billion in debt. so please move here and buy a house with your out of state money.
and pay now over $4/gallon for gas.
or $9.50 for one movie ticket (not including $4 soda and $6 popcorn).

I've seen it! LOL Actually, I remember hearing cali being on the list for foreclosures on cnn. I remember it bc I was shocked actually. lol I figured Michigan would be higher then cali and it wasnt. we have 3 bed 2 bath houses that were foreclosures selling from $15,000 (yes thats fifteen!) - $70,000 here. This state has gone to hades!!

Yes, California has been hit VERY hard by the housing foreclosure. This state is one of the most expensive states to live in. Northern California (where I live....so stop bashing it you So Calers...J/K I came from So Cal) is cheaper to live that most places south, but still ridiculous. Yes our state is $20 billion in debt and what we need is you out of stater's tourist money. What we don't need is more people moving here. It's crowded enough and the unemployment rate is ridiculous. Too many people, not enough jobs or money to keep the companies here going and not laying people off right and left!
As for taking Arnie seriously.....well...he's not a bad governator....we were already in debt...but he certainly isn't the best. But....I think people don't take him seriously because he's an Austrian Actor and was quite famous when elected.
As for that stupid commercial??? LOL If only life in California was really like that! Maybe for the super rich.

And to Occerlaris...Modesto? Are you kidding? Modesto is Central Valley, not truly Northern California...and certainly not a town to model the remainder of Nor Cal after. Try the areas surrounding Sacramento....Roseville, Folsom, Rocklin, Auburn, Penryn, Elk Grove...so not like that. Drugs are everywhere. California is not the drug capital of the US. Ever been to Miami???

Okay, Central Valley. But still it was crazy. Every 17-20 year old girl I knew and some of their moms were on meth on a daily basis. From the high class neighborhoods down to the ghetto apartment buildings. I didn't know if the Tracy, Manteca, Modesto area was like the Oskaloosa and Clinton areas around here.

I thought it was cool to see people mowing their yard on New Year's Day.

The Central Valley from Selma (just south of Fresno) up to Modesto is like that. IME. Meth is everywhere...just more concentrated in certain areas. Hell....any drug is everywhere, so don't be fooled by cute little midwest towns. Yeah...I lived in Iowa too.

Then you know how big meth is here, just more on the down low and discrete. Marijuana is rampant here. I'd have to say over 50% of all adults smoke. But once you get into the harder stuff, you can tell whose into what on how they act and look. I have a few friends that have done meth and coke since HS and hard drugged face is definitely the term for them. One of them was a former model that went to LA for a year.

Where were you at out here?

Yeah, I'm a native of Southern Cali (LA area). Tons of people move down here, so you get everybody's weirdos from other places. But once they get over the nice weather and realize that there aren't celebrities hanging out on every corner and that they're NOT going to "make it." They leave because of the cost of living, pollution, etc. etc. As a result, we kind of become a "revolving door" state. People come in but don't stay for long.

So yeah, come here for vacation... cuz... the weather is great, we have Disneyland, the beach, snow in the mountains, and there's a celebrity on every corner :ezpi_wink1: . But as the old bumper sticker used to say...

"Welcome to California! Now go home!" :hmm3grin2orange:
