yeah we know he is only temporary. According to te people at my LFS we should be ok for about 18 months to two years. The Pooty Tang as my wife calls him, some how we got that out of Blue Hippo Tang, go figure, was said to be a slow grower?

18 months to 2 years? Nope, if you are feeding him right, and doing the proper tank maintanance, you're gonn be back in less than 6 months. Technically, that tank is really already too small for him. Something else you may not be aware of with that little guy, they are one of the most aggressive tangs by far.

yep, if hes in good conditions youve got less than 6 months, and like ILMGB said, for tangs they get cranky

Looking good jim!
Is that an anemone or a plate coral of some kind? Have you always had that? Any chance we can get a rundown on your corals? Looks like there was a few new ones in there.
You've already been scolded enough for the tang, so I won't comment.

lets see if I can get this right. So far I don't have an anemone. I want one bad though. I hear a lot of different recommendations for how long to wait though. My water is perfect. Ever since the addition of the cyano (sp?) algae in my sump.
I have:
Cabbage Leather Coral
2 feather duster worms
White Glove Polyps
green stylophora coral
a frogspawn
torch coral (white tip?)
blue goniopora
Sun Coral
many assorted Zoas and polyps
blue maxima tridacna clam
as of yet unidentified brain (that just sounds weird!!)
a bubble torch
I think thats everybody. That one lone hitch hiker polyp I had sure has grown hasn't it? In only five months!! And he has a buddy now.
