I recently relocated 3 bleheri from the back to the front of my planted tank so they would be less cramped, get more light and be more visible.I have had these for 4 years and they have always been semi healthy but used to be twice the size they are now.The stems are detaching just above the substrate. Is this just a temporary reaction to being moved or have I killed them?My other plants including my amazon swords are fine.

sound as though they may have been injured in the move, I'm sure you know the proper depth to plant, did you trim any roots?
The tiny hair roots pick up the nutrients, moving the plants disrupt the uptake and will have to regrow.
Best to cut off 1/3 - 1/2 of the roots when replanting to stimulate new roots

here are some pics of the situation.I did trim about a third of the roots,I thought I was very careful when moving them to avoid damage but I suppose it is possible, all 3 plants lost there leaves.

They look like the rotted off at the substrate level, those stems do not even include the part that is attached to the rosette. That almost looks like the stems themselves may have been "injured" during the move. Is that a possibility?

Possible ,yes.I thhought I was being careful . When I pulled them out I grasped them below the gravel ,not on the stems. Can they grow back again with no leaves at all?

It is possible but it may take quite a while. It may be more trouble than it's worth though.

Today I pulled them out,the 2 that were totally denuded never put forth another leaf and the one that did put forth was looking very ragged.RIP bleheri's 4 years old was apparently old enough.
