What do you mean by long long long? Not too much you can do. Betta with shrimp or pygmy cories will work. A single school of 6 tetras that stay small will work. A shrimp only tank could look cool.

black neons, longfin danios, zebra danios, I would say 6-8 tops. try and stick with 1-2 species, preferably 1.

In tanks smaller then 10 gallons, I don't recommend any type of danio except the Celestial Pearl Danio. All other types of danios are really active and need swimming room, which tanks smaller then 10 don't really offer.

I agree, small fish doesn't mean small tank. They need room to swim.
I say betta, or use it as a fry tank for the tons of baby platies you are likely to have.

Wow, with it being that long you do have a few more options. It would be AWESOME shrimp tank, you could also get a away with a few corys since its so long, im partial to pandas lately. Theres alot you could do with a tank like that. Also, you could get away with the danios most likely. Personally i would get 4 or 5 corys, theyre one of my favorites. Usually i dont recommend them for under 10 gallons, but considering the length, you could totally do it. It would work very well for pandas as they perfer lower temps than other corys, and since you wouldnt be putting anything else in, that would work gr8. Good luck let us know what you decide!

A fry tank is one possibility.
Another interesting option would be to put a divider in it and house two bettas in there.

Fry or shrimp with sponge filter.
The filter set up with be an obstacle in that size tank. I can see none that would work other than the sponge type.

You can try some of the wild type of betta.. there's some of them who are really gorgeous and can live in pair or even in community tank!
Or you can do a fry tank, as you said... And that's a really good idea too!:19:
PS: when I said wild type, I don't mean caught in the wild... It's the type of species... If you can, avoid buying wild caught fish...

I never seen a tank like that. Post a pic of it. With it being less than a foot tall... I wouldn't know what to do with it. Turtles come to mind. Do you think it was designed for them?
