pregnant Platy help

Hi,
We have a platy that is poss pregnant and last night we noticed a change in her, she has gone very quiet and is spending a good bit of her time on the bottom of the tank, she will come up for food but then back down to the bottom and we not sure if the our other fish have been nipping at her, as this morning she looks more of a red colour on 1 side of her body, like she has a wound, we have now seperated her from the tank and placed her in a floating hatchery.
Can anyone give us any advice?

Well, if she's really close to giving birth she could be hiding out from the other fish, which is normal.

The red coloration is more worrysome ... if it looks like a wound, keep a close eye on it to make sure that it doesn't get infected.

A picture would help us better ID any potential problem, if you can get one.

Hi Sasquatch,
Well this morning after leaving her in the hatchery tank, she some how jumped out and got her self back in the main tank again and is happily swimming round this morning lol.
We couldn't believe it lol but we will keep a close eye on her and ill try today and get a pic on here for you to take a look at her.
