I'd just let her go. She will release when ready. Congrats.

I thought it was about the dog too...:hmm3grin2orange:

I remember when I first got a dog trained to 'hold' a dumbell on command...I was so excited!!

Congratulations, and good luck with the resulting fry:)

Congrats... I'm with Hobbs on this one. I would just let her spit. Make some small rock caves just big enough for them... so the other fish can't get to them. You can also put a plate under the rock pile and use it to scoop them out later. But, She'll spit right into it and they'll be safe. You need to know just the right time to strip the fry. I don't know... makes me nervous. But, I'ld rather let nature run it's course... unless I was breeding to sell.

I'm with Lady Hobbs and Rainman too lol. I'd be afraid to strip her. If you really need to do it that way though, I think if I remember right 18 days is the amount of time you should wait. If it's her first time holding don't be disappointed if she gives into hunger and swallows them. I had that happen with my first 2 fish I saw holding. Sometimes it takes them a couple tries to get the whole thing done right. Congrats! & good luck!

thank you for all of the replies! im definitely just gonna let her spit in the dank. and to dixie, my female is very small, probably just barely two inches and not very fat so i wouldnt be surprised if she swallowed them lol but i was just so happy cus i only have two yellow labs in the tank and i picked them randomly not knowing their sex! i will provide some good little hiding places for the fry if they make it! thanks again everyone

I wouldn't worry. One of my females is very small and she spits on time and didn't swallow any of her fry. good luck.
