Just bought a mature Anubias nana plant and I'm not sure how to plant it, I've heard not to bury it in the substrate. Also how can I tell where to brake off smaller plants from it?

have you got wood? attach to that with fishing line so its not buried in substrate it will grow better,:19:

Yup,what angelcakes said.Black sowing thread also works great and has the added benefit of breaking down faster.

Will they do good with the roots under a rock?

As long as you don't bury the Rhizome an Anubia will do just fine with it's roots in the substrate.

So I split up my big mature anubias plant and kept them all out of the substrate. Why are some leaves darker than others? when I looked at the plant as a whole from one side to the other it wont from light green to dark green but overall the plant looks very healthy.
