I have 2 pink kissing gourami (both 1 year old): They have been the heartiest and healthiest fish in my tanks until now. They've never been ill in the slightest and have even survived being relocated to very unbalanced, hardly cycled tanks (do to a slight crises with their big 30 gallon tank breaking and having to quickly move all the fish out and in to a new unprepared tank)....
That said...Suddenly about an hour ago I noticed that both kissers were upside down, playing dead at the bottom of their tank. I stuck the net in and poked them gently to make sure they were indeed still alive. Upon poking, they both tried to dart forth to swim away but they were stuck in an upside down position, as if their equilibrium had been completely thrown out of whack. One of them just died :( I'm trying desperately to keep the other alive by keeping him right below the surface of the water in a net, so that he can get air almost effortlessly (i think that's why the other died, as he darted down where I could not get to him and died there)
Other than the upside down position and their apparent lack of energy/ability to swim, there are no signs whatsoever of illness. They appear to be completely healthy otherwise. The rest of the fish in the tank are perfectly fine. It's the strangest thing how just the two gourami suddenly went upside down, and started dieing at the exact same moment very suddenly -though i've made no changes to their environment today besides a small water change same as usual.
Is this guy a goner, or can he be saved? Also, what the hell is wrong with them so suddenly that this would happen to them??
PLAYSE HAYLP!!! :(
