live plants

i really wanna do some live plants in my wolf chiclid tank. there super young now like an inch big. and i was wondering if i start them with live now will they learn to leave them along

They will wreck them no matter what.

they are natural born diggers, you can try your hand at some potted plants, or some rhizome plants tied to rocks, thats the best chance you have.
