My 13 month discus? Can anyone sex my discus. I thought as a male..but not sure. Also on youtube you can watch.

Discus are hard to sex just like angels. You have to wait for the breeding to began. Lovely discus!

Like Angels, there are many theories on how to sex Discus. Some claim they can tell simply by the angle of the dorsal and anal fins but that isn't 100%. Others claim to be able to sex them by looking at the slope from the mouth downward. REally, there are many clamis but none are 100% all the time. When they pair up and extend their breeding tubes for spawning then you can tell. The male will have a taper at the end of his breeding tube and the female will not.

Most of the cases where it doesn't work are in individuals that are not in the best condition, fully mature with the very robust build to them. If you talk to breeders you will see that once their discus get to the right size and condition it is reliable. Before that when they are younger it is harder to tell.
