How many shrimp?

I'm starting to develop some hair and fuzz algae and am thinking some shrimp would be helpful for that... How many would you all recommend to keep a 35-gallon clean of algae? There isn't a ton of it but it seems like a lot for a tiny shrimp. ;) The only ones I've seen at the LFS are Cherry shrimp so they will probably be what I get...

Also, what are they chances of them being safe from my thick-lipped gouramis? They are still pretty small but of course will grow!

You could put like 20 cherries in there... Give the gourami some bushy plants that create a dark spot in your tank so he can hide and give the shrimp some laefy plants as cherries like to just hang out...

10 should do the trick. If you have some moss and plants they should survive.
