Piranhas

My name is Dr. Jason
I am new to this web site and would like to take the time to briefly introduce myself.

I recently purchased a 90 gallon tank (3 months ago) and put 8 red bellied piranhas inside. They are presently approximately 2" in length and coexist (at least for the present time) with 6 danios.

I also purchased a 20 gallon tank. I am trying to breed platys. In this tank I have I feeder goldfish, 4 danios, 2 snails, and 3 platys.

How does one differentiate between male and female piranhas?

Does anyone have any advice they can give me regarding piranhas?

hello there! Piranhas sure are cool, aren't they? Sexing them is said to be difficult, but if you look closely, the females are more robust and thick-bodied and the male is more thin/skinny.

Good luck with your fish! I hear they are extremely satisfying fish friends.
