Gourami's don't give birth like livebearers do. When gourami's breed the male will build a bubble nest on the surface of the water... the male and female will mate & the female will release the eggs and the Gourami's will place the eggs in the bubblenest to develop. During this time they will defend the bubblenest at all times.
So she is not really 'pregnant' but may be holding eggs... if the male does not build a bubblenest and no mating takes place she will simply release the unfertilized eggs and will eat them.
