Has anyone gotten a retro for their current hood lights to upgrade them?
Most of these retro kits I see are darned near as costly as just buying a whole new light.

ive got some retro 48" 40w Fluorescents, only reason i used them is because i got the ballast for $5 when a superpet closed down
otherwise yeah, there like $10-$20 cheaper than complete fixtures themselves

I agree Lady Hobbs. I have looked at tons and tons of retro lights and compared to allready built lights it does not seem worth it... I am going to head to home depot or lowes or Jerry's(the local one lol) and see if they have ballast and fittings and such. Maybe make my own

These coralifes should have little holes drilled in them so a person could just mount the whole fixture. But I have seen the retro's somewhere that can be installed in your own fixture.
