Well, I've got my female set up for a few days in the males tank to get them ready to try and breed...again. Someone said she was full of eggs, so I'm going to try again. I may have not been patient enough the last times, but I dunno. Every other time I tried to breed, the male never even tries wrapping around her. He just chases her. For hours. All of my males do the same thing. Am I just not being patient enough? If anyone has any tips, feel free to say what you know!!!

Take him out, give him a month, try again. Feed all parties up with really nice foods beforehand too.

The female will have vertical stripes when she is ready (unless she's white) and the male will be making a nest. If they are not doing that, then they are not ready.

i just put in my female betta into my male bettas tank. they seem to be doing okay. he hasnt even tried to chase after her. this might be because i put her in a bowl first right up to the glass so that they could see each other and get their aggression out. now, they just do their own thing, but of course im not trying to breed. o and my male... hes pretty timid... or shy and calm... unlike most bettas so i guess i got lucky? lol

Yea, lol. I put my female in a cut off 2 liter coke bottle and put her down in the tank so they can get used to each other. I really hope I suceed this time cause I'd love to have Betta babies!!!

Do you all think that feeding them bloodworms is ok for their food?

Protien is good. I feed mine termites.
As for the breeding, one good way is this. Say you have a 10 g tank, put some plant on it(for the female to hide later). Put your male, after he bubbles out the female then sleep(don't put off the lights). Scoop up the female in the morning. then wait for two days. You'll see some really little critters in the tank and that's the time to takeout the male. Oh yeah, no aerators or filters please.

Well, things didn't go so well. We left her in there with the male for most of the day and nothing. He didn't really bite her much. She only had 2 bite marks on her tail, tho. So we took her out for a month and I guess we'll try a different male next month.

If the male is tendeng on the bubblenest, then chances are you already succeeded.

Well, I don't think he's even messing with the nest anymore. He still has one, that is taller than it is wide...lol. I was sure hoping I could have babies, though. I guess I'm unlucky in fish breeding!!
