Another mistake! grrrr

Loaches, sharks and gourami's just love zucchini but hey, it's winter and none can be found. I got a Buttercup squash to give it a try, boiled it up for them and they were eating like hogs last night.

Today my tank is once again one big mess! You'd think if they can eat zucchini without incident that a Buttercup piece could be in the tank for a few hours. NOT!

Two days ago it was 72 here. This morning we have 6 inches of snow and my power was off for 5 hours (again.) Between the squash and the power failure........disaster awaits Hobbs.

Everything is just fine. Big water change which was due anyway and all is crystal clear again. Just seems odd that one squash is fine but another is not.

I think the butternut is just naturally softer than the zucchini which may be what led to the problem. When zucchini come around again consider getting several, cutting them into serving pieces and freezing for the winter time.

I think I was in FL too long. Somehow I forgot about winter.
