He wont eat it!

I cant get my adult Apistogramma cacatuoides to eat NLS. He only eats frzen food and freeze dried stuff. I tried starving him but he eneded up eating the algae in my tank. What can I do?

How long did you starve him? He probably just needs more time.

Apistos can be hrd to get to accept commercial food. I usually just feed mine different types of frozen food.

I'm not much help either... all the Apisto's I have refuse to eat dried foods and will only eat frozen or live ... they would rather starve than eat dry foods in this house. Lucky for them I nearly only feed frozen :19:

I guess your one of the unlucky few that cant get fish to accept NLS.

You could try to fast him for 3-4 weeks(unless you have allready done that)... A fish can survive that but i think it would only be natural for him to love live food and the frozen stuff. Good luck with everything

I did starve him for almost 4 weeks. He ended up eating the algae and even a cory.
