How can you keep the fish out of the filters, they always found their way in the filters, so we lowered the water, and so far no fish got in yet, but we dont have small fish anymore that would get in right now.

So is lowering the water level the only way to stop them from getting in it?

How do they get into the filter? What kind of filter do you have?

What you describe are usually just a problem with fry and a few species as adults.

yea its only little fish.

The fish would jump into the filter (theres a little opening that the water comes out, and it would jump into the opening)

Only one fish died from it though, he had a lot of cuts, but was fine then the next day he died.

If you plan to keep small fish/fry, then get a pair of stockings, cut them and wrap them around the intake hose.

They jump into the water exhaust?

In that case i would say that you might have to clean your filter. It should greate enough current to make it impossible for small fish to jump in.
