Easiest way to find photos is to do an image search in google.

Best bet is probably the red bellied piranha. The only problem is they get 12 inches and need a shoal of 6 or more so they don't shread each other up....

12"? Thats tiny, sure judging by the sig, he will fit that in his 35 with his BGK.

Smallest pirhana's are the Pristobrycon calmoni at 6 inches... but they still need 55 gallons + although others say 40 gallons is enough

there are tons of species of pirhana but most arent distributed like the red bellied pirhanas.
Serrasalmus irritans is an awesome looking pirhana! It is absolutely wicked and more evil looking then the red bellied i think... they get to about 5.5 inches

I have no ide which species are allowed "down under". But you really should get a bigger tank if you consider piranhas.

Piranhas are illegal here in Australia. Illegal to keep, illegal to import. I was at underwater world last weekend and they said they can't even display piranhas. So no luck there I'm afraid.

No good at all! I am glad that oregon usa is allowed to keep them :D lol the state above us and the state below us are not allowed to have them!

Lol i have no idea were to get them though in Oregon i have searched and only seen pirhana for sale on craigslist and that was a few months before i even considered of getting a tank and joining this Freakin awesome site!

we cant have turtles or rats though, rats because of the fear of plagues and turtles because they think kids will get salmonella

theyre not strict about it though, as long as you dont buy the turtle from alberta you can have it, im sure people sneak in pet rats all the time

I cant imagine people having rats as pets though... thats disgusting! well my opinion anyways you know... its the nasty thick furless tail that gets me ughckkk!

At the sunshine coast? I didn't see the BGK there :( I was pretty excited by the big red tailed shark tho, mine is pretty tiny still:)

But yeah, it was awesome, I loved it:) Even my bf who's not into fish thought it was the best aquarium he's ever been too, and he really liked it:) I thought the car with the fish in it was the best myself:) They've been advertising that creepy crawly exhibit for a while, but I thought that was the most boring part:D

You guys should move here, not that cold and fish everywhere!
There are no illigal fish here except for round gobies, and we can have many illegal plants because if it were to be released into the wild, it wouldn't survive the cold. That's mainly why piranha can't be kept, they can survive your winters.

I can get an asian arowana at any pet store, while in the states I hear of black market fish dealing and asians with tracking beams in them, people spending time in jail for an arro. They should come to Canada!

actually the eyes are naturally red. S. rhombeus all have red eyes.

you thought correct! :19: she is actually incredibly docile most of the time. she has a few apple snails and a school of about 12 neon tetra as tankmates.
