hey guyysss....
ok.. I have built a tank stand for my 40 g to be in my living room....
its made out of MDF...
I m working in a woodworking shop and took some time after work this week to build me a stand...
i will be posting some pics for u guys to tell me what u think...I will probably bring it home tomorrow... will paint it black to match my tv rack... tomorrow I will post pics to see what u guys think about it...
I will empty it first... put all the water in a big plastic garbage can tht I will buy only for tht... then bring the tank to the living room on the new stand... then fill it up a bucket at a time which sucks...
I will put the fish on a 10 gallon for about 3 hours..no filter no gravel.. only tank and water from the original tank... do u guys think the fish will be fine??

When I helped my buddy move his 75g, the fish went into a brute trashcan with the tank water, left about 3 inches of water in the bottom of the tank to keep the substrate covered, then moved the tank. After that, the water went back in and so did the fish. There was a slight bacterial bloom for about 3 days, but that was probably due to the filter being cleaned and ALL the decorations being removed.

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem.

Looks good!:19:

Could you add some kind of a 'false' back to hide the power cords?

Very nice. I'm a big fan of sturdy, muscular-looking tank stands like that. And yes, tall tanks have a really nice presence about them.

thanks guys.....
I was going to make it a cabinet all closet but I tought it would look to "SQUARE" for my living room .... I was going to make a back for it but since I wanted it to be close to the wall I made no back cause I wouldnt be able to plug or unplug anything after the tank was on the stand...........
