Baby goldfish

So some of you may remember a few weeks back I had a goldfish fry that survived in the canister filter of my fancy goldfish tank and surprised me when I was going to change the sponges on the filter. Well time has passed and the fry has grown and thrived in it's own isolation section of the main tank and I was able to snap some pictures of it.

Kee in mind that it was in a guppy breeder trap at that point.

Here are some new pictures with it in a giant plastic betta/hamster/small critter tank.

Also before I get blasted about the guppys in the background. I more than realize they are tropical fish and are being housed with coldwater ones. This is NOT permanent and was the only arrangement that would keep the guppys from being euthanized. They were headed to my fathers tropic community tank until he decided to go drop 6 danios from petco with no QT time in his tank and a very fast disease die out happened. So while he is working on his tank they are waiting in the only one with space for them. Now that that is out of the way time for pictures!

This first one shows how much the little guy has grown. The guppy are right up next to the plastic isolation chamber. The goldy started at roughly 1cm and is now close to a inch long and getting a nice big belly.

So another week has gone by and my baby goldfish has been growing very fast. Already the growth has been noticable to me. Also have seen threads where people freak out because their goldfish change colors. This can happen all the time and there is nothing wrong with seeing it. So I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pics so you can see the growth and the first color change from the little guy. Enjoy!

Here is the first one. You can kind of see the color change that is happening. The original dark on top is fading to a yellow/gold color. Think he is saying, "FEED MEEEE!" in this shot.

Second shot the color change is much more easy to see. With the majority of the body changed leaving only the top and fins the original color.

Wow thats incredible! I would lovet o have fry goldfish they look fun to grow! and not only that they grow so fast! must be really fun to watch them!

I always thought the brown/black color changes were from ammonia burn.
