I'm wondering if two keyholes would work in my 29g tank? Currently it has about 5 guppies, about 8 neons, 2 black neons, 3 pygmy cories, 2 bronze cories, and a panda cory. I had originally planned to get german blue rams, but if keyholes will work, I will most likely choose them over german blue rams for healthy/hardiness issues. Thanks for any input.

Yes i would put keyholes in your tank but thats about it because other cichlids would put your other fish in misery! The keyhole cichlid is unlike others because its extremely peacefull and shy too. The males have poiinted dorsal and anal fins if you wanted to get the sex right too.

I really like the Keyholes. They are very peaceful for a cichlid...I don't think you'd be sorry if you went with them. :c3:

They are very peceful and greta fish. See if you can find the version with neon blue fins. It is absolutely stunning.

One warning. They might eat neons when they grow up.

Good thing I don't plan to restock my neons. Done with them because of NTD and just not hardy. I would like to get a pair of keyholes, just have to find both genders.

Should be able to find that in most stores with knowledgeable staff. TheY should be able to sex relatively young fish for you.
