I have been looking around for used tanks. I found 2 in the size range that I am looking for. One is 220 gallons the other is 350.

The 220 appearently has a crack in the corner of the glass and the plastic on the top is melted ( so I guess it was for a snake or something).

The bottom pane on the 350 broke and the guy removed it and got the price for a replacement quoted at $300. It also comes with a stand.

So for either one I would have to completely replace a pane of glass. How do you do that?

you would have to get a exact piece of glass cut for the broken panel, use a razor blade to get all of the old silicone off, and re-silicone the new panel on

$300 to fix a 350 not bad considering that thing would cost almost 2 grand brand new.... Make sure there are no bubbles in the corners when you silicone it. Any air pockets in the silicone will take away from the strength of the seal...

I've decided that there is no way I am going to buy the 220 because it seems like there will probably be even more problems with it because it was used for reptiles. If I can find room for the 350 I'll probably buy it because it's such a good deal. It's really tall though (72x30x36).
