A few years ago (ok maybe like 10) I got some minnows from the ditch, so i brought them inside and put them in a fish tank (just a normal one big enough for 1 goldfish)

Want to guess how long it lasted? about 3 years until they all died...

Did you ever experience something like this with the minnows from your ditch?

A lot of people keep minnows at one time or another and they are actually a suitable coldwater fish.

Minnows are also often kept as food for larger fish.

yea, i had a big bucket of water, some minnows in there. I live in canada and the water was outside for half the winter, and when we brought them in, there was a good half inch layer of ice on the top, but the minnows were still alive...
