The dept manager found out and i guess was furious...but the worst part is that i could have sold them to someone who actually wanted them....grrr

You think that is bad. My Wallmart has baby Jack Dempsey in with the much larger African Cichlids. Half the Dempseys are missing there tails and fins. I wrote the pet manager a letter and also showed a few other empoyese this and all they said was that the head department decides where they go and that is that. I f**king hate Wallmart.

Fortunately for me, the walmart that is near my house doesn't even stock fish. I remember they use too, and asked what happened to it, and the manager said that too many people complained about the mistreatment of fish, that they discontinued them. Thank the fish gods!

Our walmart here should not be allowed to have tanks the best manager in the world quit because they wouldn't let her do water changes in the tanks it is so bad they can't get the parameters right ammonia is all out of whack! they get there shipment on thursday and by friday there are barely any fish and it's not because they where bought it's because they are dead! Since the manager quit i will not buy from there she knew her tanks where bad and would keep mine in a bag and i would go pick them up early thursday mornings! The new one won't do that for me :( Walmart sould not carry fish!

Wal marts should not be allowed to sell any sort of animal. There so called care is animal abuse.I have never seen a wal mart with tanks that I would consider even moderately maintained.None of us on this site or any other fish related site should EVER patronize them for fish or fish supplies.

ive been to wal-marts allover north america, and the only one that was half-maintained was one in seattle, the tanks had gravel, plants, and there were no dead fish

I don't even go to wally's wicked wand of da weasles, Mainly because of what you guys just said.

Hey all, do your part. DO NOT buy fish items from Walmart!

We should all PM William himself, and ask him to write a sticky telling members to boycot the fish department at Wally's.

Afew weeks ago they got in a bunch of bettas and had them out on the shelf in small containers...when i was in there yesterday picking up a synodontis...they still have like 5 or so bettas sitting by the sink on a shelf...dead in the containter...water is all gross and dirty...like get rid of them...they killed the fish i took back right away...and another koi fish too...aparently it was "sick"..

It would not be unusual for a store to put down sick fish and I'd rather see them do that than put them in a tank with others that are well.

I would think that many betta's die each day. They have a long journey in those cups as it is and can be stuck in them for some time before purchased. The awful looking water they are in is actually medicated.

i remember before the one by me got rid of fish i went and i thought weird, they suddenly put sand in their tanks, turns out it was just a layer of crap

Yeah they shouldn't be allowed to keep feeders. I went there one day and they had 6 oscars full of ick a few looking like they were dying. I by pet products but
not live products from Wolly World.

Well living in Australia we don't have Wal-mart (thank goodness I think), has anyone thought of putting together a petition and everyone signing then sending it somewhere there to get them investigated for animal cruelty?
