You guys got to read what my friend did when he was over at a fun little sleep over!
My friend ryan and I were playing video games and things and finally passed out. I woke up in the morning, my stepmother told me why ryan wasnt in my room... Supposedly he took my bat (stepmom sleeping on the coach,,,, she did that a lot) anyways he came up to here in the middle of the night and said Get the F*cK out of my place and leave here!!!
So my stepmom got really freaked and didnt know what to do because she saw a baseball bat over his shoulders.... She finally realized he was sleepwalking and said oh ok sorry ryan here ya go! lol i got out of bed and there was my bat next to the couch and him sleeping..... That was crazy!!

Mom has told me that I would sleep walk when I was younger. She said I walked out onto the front porch late one night. I don't remember any of it though.
I drool a lot in my sleep (it isn't that gross.........lol). I remember sleeping in class in elementary school after taking the standardized tests. I would wake up with drool all over the place - pretty embarrassing!
I also talk in my sleep. My friends have told me numerous times that I would ramble about mindless stuff during the night.
Funny story:
I went to Philadelphia, PA, one summer on a mission trip with my church's youth group (this was in high school). All of the girls in our group slept in this one biiiiig room, and my friend Mary was sleeping on the floor beside me. I apparently knocked out rather quickly that night, because she said that she was talking with somebody and turned back around to tell me g'night, and I was fast asleep petting my pillow. She said it was like I was petting one of my cats or something (we have about 6 cats - they used to be all inside cats too, but not anymore). I still haven't lived that down yet...

And i once got up in the knight to go pee-(one of them drunken pee's when you lean your head against the wall) well i think that was sleep walking because my wife woke me up and told me i was a dirty bugger! Guys i was still in the bed room! Lol

Just remembered a time at youth camp. Again, I was in highschool, and our youth group went to camp for a week that summer. It was at a Christian college not too far from here, and we stayed in the dorms. It was set up in suites, so my room mate and I shared a bathroom with two other girls. One of the girls in the other room snored like a freight train. Like - seriously! We would have the doors in the bathroom closed, and we could STILL hear her in our room.
Well, my room mate got up in the middle of the night one evening and went into the restroom to use it, and she wanted to just peak in the other room to see the girl snoring. The other girl in that room (the non-snorer) sat straight up in her bed, pointed at the snoring girl, and said in a very loud and demanding voice, "Do you HEAR that over there?!?!?!?!" Then, she lay back down and that was that. lol She didn't remember it the next day at all.

When my uncle was young he used to sleep walk and do all kinds of crazy s**t. A few times he tried to drive his car, and i know at least once he got into a fist fight with my grandfather, (his father) when he tried to stop him from leaving the house while sleep walking. Its funny, but also very dangerous and a little scary

Happens to me too. Its got something to do with a hyperactive Reticular Activating System. Nothing deadly. Just some minor sleeping disorders are possible.

Your RAS is like a net at the back of your brain that controls your sleep and wakefulness, along with movment. When you go into REM sleep, that is what paralyzes you so you don't act out your dreams. Often times, it gets a bit off sync, and makes you twitch in twilight or NREM sleep, or can completely paralyze you if you wake up in the night.
Sleep is a really interesting topic.

Thats called sleep paralysis. Its also a symptom of a mild form of narcolepsy.
I've had to do 2 sleep studys for it so far. You have to go in, get a brain scan done, and then stay awake for 24 hours. Then you go back, and they hook you up to all sorts of machines, and you sleep. Pretty crazy. They want me to do another one in a month, but, it doesn't really do anything for me. They know whats wrong, so why should I spend 24 hours awake for no reason?

Sleep paralysis is the craziest SHI^ ever man. This has been happening ever since humans have walked the earth. When you wake up in REM sleep your body secretes a natural paraliser and when you wake up is when you can have the most real dreams you can ever imagine. ITs basically tripping hard. In ancient times it was associated with seeing the devil and gaurdian angels. As times as changed for instance early 1900's it was monsters and of course the devil... Still very religious times. Then in the new era of UFO and alians people began seeing tons of them thinking that they were getting abducted and even taken out to their ship and experimented on. It really goes with the era you are in. Now its just creepy little things satan, alians, midgets, and so forth. I love this stuff its very interesting.
Also my sister has suffered from it and she had really been effected by it. She never told anyone about her experience because it was to real and thought someonthing is really wrong with me or i am disregarding what jus thappaned. Anyways what happened is she woke up completely paralyzed and a midget kept running around in her room laughing and poking at her boyfriend. then the midget would tickle her feet and mess around with her and eventually grabbed her ankles really hard she said and pulled out of the bed and began moving up the wall and across the ceiling. She said she could not move or anything and was trying to scream!!!! IT was so scary she said that she had to think omg i am going to be pulled out the window and when she hit the window with her foot she felt the cold and woke up. But not in bed she got zoomed back across the ceiling and down the wall and straight back into bed.
This disorder can be very scary and tramatic for people, people even become zealots because they see and beleive so much when suffering form this disorder.
Hope this makes sense everybody just thought i would share

I used to sleep walk all the time as a kid,
My mum used to find me in the living room all the time watching TV, but the TV was turned off.. lol
the best one was once when i slept at my Nans house, I had one of them cabin beds, and i managed to get out of the bed walk into the living room, start watching TV, and my nan was in a wheelchair so she was in the living room allready, and asked me why i was up.
I said to her "whats your problem, cant i watch TV""
and then 10 minutes later walked back into bed, and when she asked me what was up with me the prev night, i had no clue what she was talking about!! lmao..
Another one when i was 20. i used to have house partys all the times!! was a right party animal, all the shots and everything, and being an IT guy, all my music was on my computer.
Well after a lot of drinking I fall asleep, and everyone else kept on partying. as you do! but someone managed to close down the music on the computer, and no one knew where it was on the computer... so they asked me, and in-between snores, i gave them detailed step by step guidance on how to get it back up and working agian... Brings another meaning to "I can do my job in my sleep "
Was a great laugh when they told me!!:19:

I can't remember how old I was, but I know that I slept walked about 5 miles from home. Somehow or another, I grabbed a jar, and headed outside into the country. I caught a whole mess of fireflies. Then, from the dew on my pajama bottoms, I woke up. I was out in a field, and didn't have any idea on how I got there, where I was, or anything. All I knew, is that I had a jar full of fireflies. I ended up walking to the nearest road, and finding my bearings and headed home. I told my parents about the whole deal the following day, and from then on, they made sure the doors were all locked and barred.
My buddy brian slept walked too. I slept over at his house, and watched him get up. I called his name, but got no response, so followed him. He opened up the patio door, and walked right to the edge of the deck, by the pool. He was standing so close to the edge. I called him again, asking what he was doing, again no answer. Then his dog, this huge black lab comes out, and bumped brian into the pool! I was like sh**! I dove in after him, and pulled him out. He was choking and coughing up water, and very very startled. He had no idea on how he wound up taking a swim in the night. Thank god I was there to save him, or I think he would have drowned.
His parents from that day on, made sure all doors had safety locks on all the doors.

Your body doesn't enter REM sleep when you are, well, drunk, so you weren't completely out of it. That explains lots of drunken blabbering that people do :hmm3grin2orange:

When I was a kid aparently I did a fair bit.
The last time (I was seen anyway) was when I was about 22, my wife woke up and I was standing at her head on a waterbed, scared her, she yelled, I fell backward onto the matress not knowing what was going on, I tried later standing dead still on the waterbed at the same position awake, and could not do it.
When my brother was about 16 mum caught him walking down the road naked, she had heard the front door in the middle of the night and went to investigate, got an awfull shock:laugh1blue:

My husbands fun when he sleeps sometimes. You can talk to him and he'll answer you truthfully without knowing! hahaha Thats always fun. Then there are the nights when the war dreams come out and he'll try to choke me out with his pillow or elbow me in the face. Its great let me tell you. haha

Believe it or not a lot of people do that when they're half asleep....its called a hypnagogic myoclonus or also known as hypnic jerk. Its an involuntary muscle twitch and happens for a variety of reason.
