When I set my tank up, I stuck the filter on the back to make sure there was proper wall space for it but.......only one side. I now have the tank sitting 5 inches from the wall on one side but the other is only 4 inches so now can't use a second filter. (Looks straight to me)
I got an Emporer bio wheel 400 and after 3 attempts, got it to fit but it was literally jammed in there.
At 3 AM this morning I jumped out of bed and thought what the heck am I doing but putting a stress point on my aquarium! So after struggling for half an hour, got that filter back out of that jammed up space.
So.......what is a good submersible filter I can use for that one end? A sponge filter or something else? I can't use this Emperor inplace of the other filter due to the position of the brace in the center of the tank. grrrrrr
You'd think after setting up 4 tanks a person would be smarter.
I have to tell you this Emporer really kicks out the water, tho. Maybe by the time I set up my next aquarium I will have more smarts?
When I set up my next tank, I may have to transfer everything over to that one so I can move this bloody thing one inch!

I have an fluval internal filter that is okay...but they definitely can not handle the size tank they say. The only downside I see to it other than not being able to filter what it claims is that when I pull it out to clean filter media it has a tendency to drop all kinds of crud into the tank. Why not consider an external canister. You can get more hose if you need longer length so that you can position the canister somewhere convenient. I have the magnum 350 biowheel pro and love it. It is a pain to set up, but once you get used to it works quite well for the cost. I know there are better filters according to opinions but with this being a second filter you aren't looking at one filter to do the entire job a less expensive one might keep the budget happier.

It is sooooo like me to barrel into something without taking the time to do it right the first time. I can't believe I made such a dumb mistake. (well......come to think of it.......LOL)
I would have room to add another Aqua Tech 30/60 that come with the tank. That one I have room for and could save the Emperor for the next tank.
The Emperor is big. Hardly fits the lid cut-out intended for filters. Just barely.
Canister may have to be my answer as well. Poop!

Oh stop knocking on yourself Hobbs....you arent' stupid, just didn't think towards the future. I did that with my 64 gal. I was so happy to see it would fit between my desk and the freezer that I set it all up not thinking that now, everytime I have to clean my hoses I have to crawl under the tank to be able to pull them off from the back! Such is life.

We do like to make more work for ourselves, don't we.
My wounded angel is getting no better and infact, I think that split on it's side is even worse. I took him out of the tank and poured Metafix right on that cut and put him in a quaranteen tank with more Metafix added to the water. I sure would hate to loose this angel especially as he's the "nice" one.

Have you tried any stress coat yet? Now that he is in quarantine, I would definitely try melafix/pimafix to cover all bases, and dose the entire tank with stresscoat.
I'm one who does not use medications on my fish. For wounds such as what your angel fish has, I would just make sure he's in a really clean, healthy tank. Definitely one with no other fish harrassing it. If there is any doubt about water conditions, I do a large water change, usually followed by a couple more during the week. After that, it's watch the fish closely.

It doesn't appear to be getting any smaller but also doesn't appear to be infected either. Seems almost bigger. I was wondering if it could be a Aeromona?
