I have 4 goldens and only one is female. I don't see the others bothering her much but she remains on the bottom of the tank day and night. She eats well and appears fine but all she does is go to the top for air then right back to the bottom but not always to the same spot. Could she just be hiding from the males?

Any time you have more then one male with gourmis, you're asking for trouble. She could also just be shy.

My male dwarf gourami pretty much always hangs in a bottom location also unless he is eating or coming up for air. As long as all looks healthy and noone is hurting him just keep an eye on him. Sounds like all is well though. Do keep an eye on the males, because as CJ said, they have a tendency to cause trouble when there are multiple males, although I didn't have a problem when I had 2 males together in my large tank.

They get along very well, surprisingly. My male moonlights are getting along better now too and they are all males. Guess they got their pecking order squared away.

My dwarf males hang out mostly on the bottom as well. They like searching the gravel for food, those piggies!
