Hi,
I've read elsewhere on the web that this is simply an in tank filter and does nothing to reduce water-change frequency. Can you folks confirm this or provide more info?

this is the first time Ive heard of this product.Time will tell if its any good.My first inclination and general experiance tells me that it will not work as advertised.There is no way other the WCs to dilute the toxins in our fishes water sufficiently enough to eliminate WCs.

Exactly all. There is no miracle product of any kind that will replace a good old water change. Besides, there are a lot of things brought into the tank via a water chagne, especially if you have a planted tank. There is usually some good stuff in there. Also, if you use RO/DI water then removing the water change is also removing the chance to give your plants perfect water since you have to reconsitute it with something like Seachem Equalibrium.
