I am pretty sure I put a long post on here about water changes and why they should be big and frequent. If anyone remembers where it is I would appreciate it.

I was reading the other day that in some of the Asian countries where electricity is not available too readily that fish tanks have no filters at all. They change out nearly all their water every other day and the fish do fine.
Goes to show that large water changes don't do them harm.
