What do you all think? As I have decided not to risk breaking the glass in the new tank, what about sticking the over flow/syphon boxes right to the glass of the aquarium? If I can find black plastic to use instead of the clear stuff..........

I'm not sure what you mean.

My RSM isn't drilled, but it has an overflow on the top, and then the water returns from the top (on the opposite side of the tank).

You can see the configuration here:

I currently have an over flow box hanging on my tank. Half in and half out of course. With siphon tubes carrying the water out of the tank. My idea is to attach the box to the side of the tank instead of having it hang on a mount.

this sort of shows how it is two separate boxes held together by a strap.

The idea I have is to silicon the boxes to the glass itself. Pretty much making them permanent.

I know I saw this on a website somewhere but I cant remember what it was. My guess would be it was somewhere on this site [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] so he would have been working with a acrylic tank. If I remember correctly he built it into the tank as it's own little part. So it should work in your tank too.

Think this is the one I was looking at. [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] Pretty simple design. Here is a picture of it in action I think too.

It should work. I would just worry about the silicon not holding the box up, but I'm not even sure that would be a problem.
