Ordered one of these tonight for my 55 gallon. May use it in addition to the Aqua Tech that come with it. Not sure as I'll need two filters as the Emporer is supposed to turn over 400 gallons per hour. Anyone here have one of these?
I may end up doing the filter shuffle adding each filter to the aquarium that is smaller and get rid of the smallest one.

I have an Emperor 400 running along with a cannister on both of my 75 gallon tanks & they are a good filter. But for almost the same price the Aquaclear 110 is a far superior filter. It filters 500 gph & gives you biological filtration along with mechanical. You dont have to replace the carbon every 2-4 weeks, you just make sure you rinse & clean the sponge. Hopefully this helps!

The Bio-wheel is probably the most efficient form of biological filtration. The Emperor 400 is a great filter if you don't mind the cost of the cartridges.

Nice to know. One thing for sure, this Emperor is loud when it first starts. Sounds like a thrashing machine but once it's pumping, quiets right down.
