Hi guy's,
I would like to give you a tank mate tip, as you will know oscars are messy fish, thay are messy eaters and messy poopers, what ive discoverd is that my walking catfish is an excellent tank mate for my oscar, indoing some research i found out that w/catfish frequent the same waters in the wield as oscars and live rather happily together, with this learned knowlege i added my walking catfish to my oscar tank, well i could't believe it the w/catfish went straight to work - continue in next post

Sounds like a good plan, but I think they are illegal where I'm at... Speculation tho, I could be wrong.

I have come across this problem in my learnings of the walking catfish, and as far as i know it is'nt legal to keep these fish without a permeate, but you can buy them with the permeate from breeder's in the u.s

Vic you may be talking about Northern Snakeheads that can walking on land.... The walking catfish is a little different. However they are an invasive species in the midwest and florida so maybe they are banned also in PA....

I'm pretty sure they are both banned where I'm from here in Pittsburgh. I don't think I'd eve buy a banned fish anyway. I have enough cool ones... Piranhas, a stingray...

I wouldn't even take the chance on a banned fish. I am with you there. I just looked on google. Both these species are banned in Maryland and Pennsylvania...

The are band because keepers would set them free in lakes/rivers-ect and the fish would then eat all the eggs of the native fish and destabilse native fish stocks hence the need for a permeate,
Its a shame that such a graceful fish has such a bad rep thanks to unresponsible keepers.
