Giant Danio

Today I started to get fish for my 30 Gallon tank. I had a list of fish I wanted before I walked in the store.

I bought 4 Giant Diano. My question is, I think I did not get Giant Diano.

Here are my reasons.

1) the tank had 3 diffrent fish in it. The tank said $2.49 each for Giant Diano, but they charged me $1.99 each wich was the price of the other fish in the tank.

2) Giant Diano are like 6 inches and the ones I bought are close to 4 inches.

3) Also the ones I got on the top half of the body look like a dark colored Kissing Gourami and the botton looks like a little colored Kissing Gourami(the color of the fish I bought)

So what do you guys think. Do I have Giant Diano or not?

Without a picture an ID would be difficult, my suggestion would be to do a search on giant danios and look at several pics, read up on coloration and such and see for yourself. They may not be fully grown which would explain the size, but once you know without a doubt what it should look like you should not have any problems deciding if it is a danio or not.

I have a book that is tells me the fish turn red, but only when they breed. I am still not sure.
