Does anyone else get a gross green slimy algae growing on the cover underneath the light on the tank? I keep getting this on the plastic cover that sits under the strip light on my one tank. it only happens on one side too. its pretty disgusting cleaning it off, lol, its so slimy and gooey, lol.

The only place I get this green slimy algea stuff is the underside of the outflow lip on my Aquaclear filters. I just wipe it off everyonce in a while.

when i had a 55g planted, and a biowheel 350 HOB, the fricken HOB sprayed water so much that i had 1" thick living algae on my hood, the left side of my tank got no light. the algae is caused by excess moisture on the hood

Yeah, it's pretty normal. It's just the moisture in the air causing algae growth.

I did once on the left light on my 55, but I cleaned it once, and it has yet to come back on any of my lights.
