Fluval Airator mod?

ok so you know how most power heads have a hole on top of the outlet that you can put airline in and it will suck air through with it. im curious to if i drill a hole into the return on the fluval 305 return and pull a line through if it will work or would it just squirt water out all weird?

anyways let me know what you think before i ruin my piece!

Anytime you have a small hole and air or water rushing past it, it creates a venturi effect, pulling in air/water from that small hole. If you modified the U-turn return part on a Fluval canister filter you should still get the same effect. But the shape of that part does not really allow for it, anywhere on it would probably let water out since it does that U-turn. Maybe adding a different outlet would let you do it. Worth a shot. Worst case you fail and try another way.
