I put some fake plants in my 10 and 29. I think the 29 looks a lot better. I will be adding some live plants to the 29 in a few days when they come. I ordered water sprite, hornwort, and Cardamine "creeping charlie". It is all going in the 29, since the 10 is brackish. I may move some of the fake plants from the 29 into the 10 then, depends on how well the real plants do. i will probably just let the water sprite and hornwort float for the gouramis to enjoy. and then the creeping charlie can give some more ground cover/hiding places for the clown plecos (and yoyo loaches when i get them). also i was reading about the java fern I have and read that it is better to attach them to driftwood then to plant them in the gravel.....maybe that is why it hasn't been looking too good. I sat it in a little hole in the driftwood so it can attach itself to it, hopefully. the roots are pretty short (maybe 2in) and the plant itself looks pretty sickly....hopefully it will perk back up soon.

Nice tanks. I would definitely put more plants (fake or live) into the 10g. Give the fish some more hiding places.

Good luck with your live plants! I love mine :)

The tanks are looking great.... The more plants you use the fuller the tank will appear. They will take away the open look but they both look great for now also..... Congrats...

May I ask where you order your plants from??? LeeAnn :) The tanks look much nicer with a few plants in them, don't they! I think your Java will do fine...they're pretty hardy little guys...lol...

i ordered my plants from thatpetplace.com they should be here in a day or two.

both of the tanks are overstocked, i think but they are doing great and my water is very good.

the 10 had 3 male guppies, 2 balloon mollies, 1 gold barb, 4 bumblebee gobies, 3 glowlite tetras, and a peppered cory. now i know the glowlites should have a few more buddies and the cory should but as for the cory he is just the last surviving one...i have really bad luck trying to keep them alive, that is why i havent bought anymore. i had gotten a school of 6 once and lost most within weeks, still cant figure out why though. when one would die i would check my water and everything was fine....so who knows.

the 29 has 5 opaline gouramis, 10 serpae tetras, 3 painted tetras, 1 bolivian ram, 2 clown plecos, 1 chinese algae eater, and 1 upsidedown catfish. i want to get some yoyo loaches for the tank, but don't know if i should, im still debating it.
