I am hopeful someone can direct me to the best online source for NLS.

I also have a question about their "new" surface feeder food. It's .8mm and says it's semi floating. Has anyone used it, and if so, does it really float?

Also, has anyone tried the sinking wafers?

I must have a most unusual clown pleco. He has no desire to eat fresh foods. I've tried cucumber and zucchini and he leaves it untouched. I've had him for ten days and I'm afraid there soon will not be enough algae to sustain him.

I am anxious to find a quality food that he will eat.

Thanks,

Karen

Clown pleco's are a Peckoltia species, and require driftwood in their diet. You can also try soaking the veggies in garlic juice to attract the pleco to the food, but they aren't really a veggie-eater like the bristlenose. They are omnivorous and like meaty foods as well.

I actually went to the LFS to buy a bristlenose and the owner convinced me to take the clown instead. He said their nutritional requirements were the same.

The good news is.....I do have a very large piece of driftwood in the tank. Attaching a pic. It was starting to grow lots of algae on the backside closest to the light. My clown has cleaned most of that up, which is why I'm concerned he might not be getting enough to eat now.

When you say, they like meaty foods, could you be more specific? I am a total novice to fishkeeping. What brand of sinking "meaty food" would you use for a pleco that does not want to eat his veggies?

They will generally go for frozen brine shrimp or blood worms.

Just to clarify, the Clown Pleco is not a Peckolita species, it is Panaque maccus.

Sinking wafers work wonderfully. They do not disintegrate and are a wonderful source of quality nutrition for your fish.

Ok.....now I'm really confused. Are Panaque Maccus omnivores?

Is there any food in the form of a pellet or wafer I can feed this little fella?

What about Hikari Tropical Sinking Wafers? Would that work?
