is it just me or is there something going on?

IS it just me or is there something going on, where if you fill out an application for a job, they should hire you if you want to work. right?? they should hire you even if you dont have a deploma or g.e.d. which in my case i don't have either one. i feel if you like to work and you want to work then people should hire you, instead of hireing people that work untill they get their first paycheck, then quit!! any replys would be good i would like to hear others opinions on the this sounds.

I read once (and please don't feel this is directed at you) that employers feel that if a person has not the initiative to finish school nor get their GED, that likely they will show no initiative in their work habits. Those that strive to do better in school also strive to do better in the work place.

There are so many looking for work now that employers are more likely to hire those that have completed high school and even went on to get some college courses. You can't even get into the service now without proper schooling so I urge you to get that GED. Why let something that easy to get hold you back all your life?

Are you out of HS yet? Did you qualify for the position? Maybe the employer could only hire 5 out of 50 applicants... It can be very hard to get a job sometimes. I completly agree with what hobbs has said as well. Your HS diploma or a GED is very important.

Cyane I am a 30 year old returning to the university to get another degree. because i feel the same as you and I have a degree. There are some great programs to get your GED online and I would encourage you t o try to get one. You will be surpised at the amount of doors it will open.

thanks you guys seem more helpful then the other forum that i go onto. i finished high school, i just never got my damn deploma because of the math test... but im a very hard worker, i do my job very well. even if it is stressful, and sometimes i hate it. but its all i got for right now. the other forum i go to is aheeyah. its a korean forum, i figured i could join and it would be cool and all, but i think some people dont like me to much. im going to try and get my g.e.d this friday, and if i dont pass then i will keep on trying.untill i get my g.e.d. my little sister dropped out of high school, and was gonna get her g.e.d but she dont even want to now...shes not even thinking about it or anything...i think shes just being very lazy. thanks you guys cheered me up.

Good for you and if you don't pass it, keep trying. You might try checking at the library for books on GED testing. Sometimes sample questions will be there to check out.
