Hillstream specialist tank

Hey all.

I'm thinking bout setting up a specialist tank for hillstream loaches. I know they'll need a fast current like a river. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?

Sorry you've gotten no responses to your question. I have no great advice so was waiting for someone to jump in and answer your question but apparanently none of us are familiar with what you are trying to accomplish.

I can think of nothing to help you other than adding aeration to the bottom of the tank. I'd love to see how your set-up comes out in the end and would love some pictures posted here when you're finished.

I believe the current is usually created with a power head attached to the side of the aquarium. We have one in our mbuna tank, which is in the bottom front corner on the side of the glass....the filter is on the bottom back corner on the opposite side so as each one creates the current we have water flowing in both directions. Check it out and keep us posted. Loaches are great! Want pics!

yeah. i would say use a powerhead to get the water moving nicely. maybe even 2 . one in each corner on one side firing across the top of the tank.
