Baby Kribs

I've just had baby kribs in my tank, they arrived without me knowing last week and are growing really really fast. The parents are in a mixed tropical tank with guppies, a silver shark, a white red tailed shark, gouramis, tetras and cory's and a severum (not gold) - they seem to be keeping everyone at the other end of the tank quite well - even nipping me a few times. I've tried separating the tank but the babies swim over top of the slate or get through tiny spaces. I haven't fed them anything special - they seem to be fine.

Do you recommend taking them out of the tank with the parents and putting them into another? I have no idea what to do with these guys.

Any advice appreciated

When they are or if they get to a reasonable size big enough they should be removed without parents because sometimes the stress of moved parents tends to cause death of other fish.

Thanks for that, they're pretty big now, some are up to 2cm long and there's still about 25 or so in the tank. The parents look like they're getting ready to breed again so i'm going to have to give the little one's away.

sure is a bummer! i've been trying to find kribesis in my area for months. i don't understand why no one stocks them. they're so awesome

you can request them to the LFS and if they can't get them they should be able to explain the reason they aren't in your area.

Glad you are having luck with the young my first expirience didnt go so well but then again I hear they dont like to be good parents the first time around.
my Kribs eggs just hatched 2 days ago hopefully all goes well this time
