That kind of looks like blu-rays oscar. But try feeding peas. I know it cleaned my oscars system out. What type of food you feeding?

ah thats bad!
i'm not sure but i've heard some similar problems as a result of overfeeding.
add more veggies to his diet and also use garlic and pea as mentioned above.

and yeah he looks like my young oscar! those patterns on the fins and tail will be disappeared some weeks later. actually i hope hes still with us then!

ok he looks like a female if im not mistaken this is her breeding tube, the end of the tube looks flat(cant quite figure it out) if so indicating its female, mine did the same a few weeks ago and she was young, possibly younger than youres is at the moment, but this looks the case but dont quote me

If that is a breeding tube it looks infected or it's protruding too much. Here is a thread started by Lady Hobbs and a reply further down by Blu-Ray with pics of oscar breeding tubes.

that oscar seems to be just 3 months old. too young to show the breeding tube. also that thing is too much bigger than a breeding tube. i think its a part of intestine!

We had this posted before. Parasite in the intestines possibly. Salt the tank, deshelled peas boiled and finely minced garlic to help the fish....
