Ok sorry I have a heavly planted 10g tank, and my female guppys are expecting any day now, if I leave the new fry in the tank ( I have a lot of hiding places) what do I feed them, ground up flakes or will they feed off some of the plant parts or what sorry,

Try to get them to top feed on very very very finely ground flake food and when a little bigger baby brine shrimp. Cover the filter intake so they don't get sucked in and make sure to watch the water quality very closely. They are tough to bring up in a community tank. A fry tank would be best if you have it but if not good luck with them. Keep us updated...

BTW The only dumb question here on AC is the one you are to afraid to ask... :11:

A seperate breeding box in the tank would work. It is muych easier to get them to eat when they can't hide in decor. The box will keep them at the top and away from the intake also.... Good Luck!!!!

I would drop a few bits of food in the tank, and try to net the fish as they come for it. At the very least, they should move close to the front of the tank. If most of your plants are middle to back, then you should have an easier time if they are toward the front.

A larger net is also easier to net fish with. I use a 4 inch net, and sometimes I get my 6 inch one out. Less places to go with the big net.
