Hey guys Just found out today that my tank is cycled and was wanting to add more fish. I was thinking about a gourami as they seem compatable with my fish. I have 1 angelfish, 5 gold white clouds, and 1 bristlenose. Tank stays around 79-80 and I know they need air from the air not the warter. anyone who has experience in gouramis Please leave comments!!!

Thanks guys!:19:

Are the gold white clouds cold-water/subtropical fish? There is a chance the angel and gourami won't get along, but just a chance. The chance is small enough for it worth a try.

I just read up on them a little. And they are at least subtropical. You shouldn't mixed tropical with subtropical/cold water.

Edit: And what size tank is it?

Thanks travie, These were my hardy fish for the fish cycle of my tank. I am going to get a cold water tank as soon as I can but i know the white clouds can tolerate 80 because in the spring time for them in their natural habitat that temp incourages breeeding. They seem to be very happy and comfertable using the whole tank.

I would love to have gourami and angel thinkthat would look awesome!

Travie the is a 35 gallon show tank! Thanks so much for the response travie!

Your Angels may eat the White Clouds when they get bigger, but Gourami can go with angels.

The natural food of angels are Neons, so the white clouds are smaller and about the same body shape, so do the math.

I know proeve the angel is tiny maybe almost an inch... I am still planning on getting the cold water tank to keep them in and breeeeed. Thanks gouramis can go with angels :D

I hear its easy if you know what you are looking for. I'm sure there is information on how to sex them on the Angels Board.

I have a female gold gourami and a male flame dwarf in seperate community tanks. Both wont hesitate to chase another fish (the gold more so than the dwarf) but neither is relentless. Neither mess with my corys, neon tetras or hatchetfish. The platys and swordtails are the ones that get chased ... and even at that its no worse that the sqabbling they do amongst themselves. Thats the experience I have had with MY two fish .... Im sure each individual will be different.

What would you think just one dwarf gourami, I would think that it would be friendly but not sure...

dwarfs can get a little fisty at times but just would probably be fine, if you dont get a dwarf try to get females, their not as aggressive as males. I have 5 different species gouramis in my tank and all female and i rarely see them chase any of the tetras, danios, or platies and only chase eachother every once in a while

Thanks guys for the response and sorry for the slow one!

I am recently bought a new Silver angel fish, now have a total of two. Hopefully its a pair. The thing my first anglefish(Dog) seems much more fit compared to the new angelfish. Anyways I hope this is a pair.

Sailor those Honey gouramis sounds great as dwarf gouramis can be agressive thansk travie and erik. I watched some at the fish shop and they didnt lookto nice lol :D compared to my fish

Do you think the gouramis would do could with 2 angelfish even though they are quit small maybe only an inch from nose to the start of the caudal fin.
Another question can you get those honey gouramis as juveniles easily?

With honey gouramis, I would worry more about the angels picking on the honey gouramis. Angels are cichlids after all. If you were to post good pictures of both angels on here, there are some members who would be able to sex the angels for you.

Thanks Travie, I appreciate all the help. I was thinking about doing this. I was reading some threads that mitcore took over and sexed some angels. I think I will do the same.

I think its worth a shot, gouramis can be agressive, but when raised from a young age with other fish, it learns to accept
