My sister has 2 gold fish in a tank. And both were gold in the beginning, but one has turned white. can someone explain why this happened? It isn't sick is it?

It says the parameters are: 15.75 in. wide x 16½ in. tall

Goldfish can get pretty big and are very messy so they need high filtration. For two I would say the minimum would be a 20 gallon tank bigger would be better like the 35 oscarfan mentioned or even a 55 gallon would be better. Good luck!

i think goldfish change their colour throughout their lives. i wouldnt worry about it to much i dont think. and i agree with the other posters, you should try and get them a bigger tank as soon as you can. :11:

Yea they can change color because of stress, food, light, age, etc. I wouldn't worry about the color of them at all.

For 2 fancy goldifsh, you need a 35 galon. For 2 common goldfish or comets, ou need a 55-75 gallon. Fancies get 6 inches long and commons get 12 inches long.

uh... I don't know what you guys are talking about, but our gold fish are maximum 3 in long...

I don't know much about gold fish...so maybe I am wrong, but we went to a store and there was like a 50 gallon tank PACKED with "gold fish". So we got 2.

You have to factor adult size when talking about the size of the fish not the fish's current size.

and thats why fish get sick from feeders...

If they are fancy (round body, double tail) their body alone (not counting fins) will get fist size (softball size). Long-bodied (feeder type) will get about a foot long.

There is black on top of orange on top of white. Many lose coloration as they get bigger.

Your goldfish are not even close to full grown yet. That is why they need to be upgraded to a much larger tank. I would go with a regular shaped rectangular tank, more gallons per dollar.
