Hi im alex, i just started my first tank about a month ago, its ten gallons and its going well, i did all my research on my fish and got three xray tetras to get the cycle going shortly later i got a pleco which im not sure of which kind under the impression it wouldnt get much bigger than three inches (now i know im wrong) haha. Im really addicted to my fish and my tank now. tragically after seeing all of the pictures and posts on this sight i realize how tacky my black gravel, plastic plants, bubble wall, and bubbling rum drinking skeleton are, hahaha.

The pictures you see here on the site are far less important than the health of your fish.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to AC!!! We've all had our "tacky tanks" before.

You'll learn a lot here! Don't be afraid to ask questions. :)

What's wrong with a rum drinking skeleton? Sounds to me like you've got one of the cooler tanks out there. Who else can say they have Keith Richards in their living room?!?!

People like different things.
My wife likes natural tanks - then in a shop she saw a Chinese Dragon aerator, and wanted it.

Hi Alex - Welcome to AC! This is a great site, everyone is helpful and friendly, a great place to be. I remember I used to have a cool treasure chest that would fill with air and then swing open revealing all its jewels. I wonder whatever happened to it, I kinda miss it now, fun action to have in the tank. Anyway, glad to have you here!

Tacky skeletons!? Then I'm guilty... I have 3 tacky skeletons in my 75gal Piranha tank. I have the rum-drinking one, the poopin' skeleton that lifts up to shoot a fart bubble, and a little skeleton dude in a barrell.

I also have a 10gal tank with black substrate.

I also have a bubble wall in my 150gal tank.

Welcome to the site! You may want to check on that Pleco. There are several varieties, some that get to about 4"-5" max like my Rubberlip, or others like my 14" Common. I think angelcakes has one thats around 12"! You may end up with a fish that is bigger than the tank it's in! If you can describe it or show us a picture, I'm sure one of us could probably ID it for you.

Before I forget...Hello and welcome to the site. I'm sure your tank's not that bad...I also house a tacky skull in my fancy shmancy tank. As long as the fish are healthy and happy, that's all that matters, right :19:
